Grating Collars (GPC), also known as Pipe Penetration Collars, are designed to easily enclose unwanted openings, gaps and penetrations found in walking-working surface areas.
The GPC-6 is designed to encircle 6” openings on grating and deck plate. Each collar effortlessly bolts to the surface from the topside of the grating, using either a J-bolt or L-bolt; therefore, no welding or scaffolding is required. The GPCs bolt-in design is not only easy to install but is also easy to unbolt and remove in case a rework is required. For openings larger than 6″ or odd shapes, please refer to our Toeboard Links. The GPC-6 consists of 2 half round sections.
The GPC-X is used to extend the GPC-6 for larger openings.
Both are manufactured from our rigid, noncorrosive polyurethane, making them resistant to outdoor exposure and harsh environments.

Layout the GPC halves around the opening. Connect the halves by using the 2 – 3/8-16 x 1 ½” hex head bolts, washers, and 3/8” nuts. Slide the 4 J-bolts (L-bolts) in the 4 slots located on the bottom of the GPC (2 slots per half). Pulling up on the J-bolt (L-bolt), catch one of the grating bars with each bolt and tighten.
Layout the T5 pieces around the pipe penetration, and insert the 3/8” x 3 1/2” long bolts through the connecting holes. Thread them, but do not tighten.
Drop J-bolts (L-bolts) in the slots located on the bottom of each T5 piece. Catch one of the grating bars with the J-bolt (L-bolt) and tighten. Do this for all T5 pieces.
Once all the J-bolts (L-bolts) are securely fastened, tighten each of the 3/8” x 3 1/2” bolts in the connecting holes.
