LOAD-BEARING ITEMS MOLDED FROM ISP

The material that we use is called Instant Set Polymer (ISP).  One of its outstanding characteristics is that it can be molded into thick-section parts that have considerable strength and load-bearing abilities.  It has a compressive strength of 9,000 psi.

Obviously this is an important part of the strength and value of our Safety Gate, but it has also been used in a number of our other parts.

The small insulators shown at left are 4" diameter   x   6 3/8" high.  They are used to support chlorine production brine cells, and have replaced the ceramic ones shown on far left.   Just two (2) of these insulators are used to support fully-loaded brine cells weighing around 7 1/2 tons (15,000 pounds)!

These large insulators were molded for electrochemical process production.  They provide support for electrical bus bar as it carries low voltage loads of high current to the process cells.

The polyurethane insulators not only keep the high amperage from going to ground, but they also support the substantial weight of the cells and of the aluminum bus bars, as well.

Several different type shapes were all produced in a single mold by using various inserts.

These pictures show a prototype manhole cover which was produced and tested.  It proved to be quite strong and could bear the load of a standard forklift and of truck traffic rolling over it.

What kind of load-bearing demand would you like us to address for you??

Give us a call, or send an email with your requirements, and we will be happy to work on designing a solution.
