Note:  It is generally easier to perform these steps with the safety gate removed from it’s mounting.

1. Remove cover plate showing the “L” or “R” designation by
   unscrewing the 2 – stainless steel retaining screws.
2. Once cover plate is removed, flip gate upside down and
   shake the hinge pin loose.  Be careful to retain the Teflon
   bushings and Teflon wear plates.
3. Do the same with the opposite-handed hinge just received.
4. Make sure the bottom Teflon bushing is positioned in the
   new hinge with the chamfered edge upward (See picture). 
   Hold the Teflon wear plate in place and slide the SG blade
   into place in the hinge.
5. Insert the yellow plastic hinge pin.
6. Now insert the other Teflon bushing with the chamfered
   edge downward over the yellow hinge pin.
7. Finally reattach cover plate with the 2 – stainless steel
   retaining screws.   Do not overtighten or the threads
   may become stripped.
